EDIT 2: Alright, so this system is very finicky, but if you do UofM Guest and then log-in with your UofM User ID and password, you will be able to get on….sometimes. It’s very weird.
EDIT: Ok, so maybe this doesn’t quite work. I don’t know what’s going on, but it doesn’t seem to work anymore…
Alright. So, just a quick little blog post for those at the U of M trying to connect a 3DS to the internet (which probably isn’t too many people, but whatever). My first few days here, I didn’t understand what I was doing, so here are step-by-step instructions for what worked for me:
1. Get to the Home Menu
2. Open the internet browser in the top right corner of the screen (most people should have this, but there’s a small chance you don’t because you never updated and are screwed).
3. As the 3DS tries to find the U of M’s log-in screen, DON’T PRESS ANY BUTTONS OR TOUCH THE SCREEN! Seriously, that’s what messed me up every time. It just kept freezing on me then.
4. You probably need to then enter a valid email address of some sort in the boxes on the webpage.
5. ???
6. Profit!
Anyway, now you can use the 3DS internet and the eShop and whatnot. Enjoy!
